·      2010 Western Horseman of thr Year Award

·      1020 National Reining Horse Association Hall of Fame

·      2009 Iowa Quarter Horse Association Hall of Fame

·      2003 Man of the Year in Texas Agriculture

·      Founder and 1^st President of the Southwest Reining Horse Association

·      One of the original founders of the:

National Reining Horse Association

Stock Horse of Wisconsin

Iowa Quarter Horse Association

Midwest Quarter Horse Association

·      Founded the horse program at the University of Wisconsin & recently honored with the naming of the Brainard-Kasten Colt Barn

·      Judged the Road to the Horse Competition for 10 consecutive years

·      AQHA judge for 36 years
